Chef Educator Positions Available All Over Alameda County!

If you answered "YES" to these questions, then we want YOU to teach after school cooking classes!

Cooking Round the World is a unique cooking program that uses food as the conduit to present new understanding about culture and traditions from around the world. The intention behind our program is to build bridges, celebrate diversity, and embrace difference!

Our program is very hands on: all children peel, chop, dice, or mince, while teachers use their words to instruct. The outcome is a new appreciation of food, and a desire to see the world!

From appetizers to soups and salads, from entrees to desserts and drinks, Cooking Round the World participants learn cooking skills while experiencing a country's culture and culinary flavors. Classes include language acquisition, traditions and customs, international games, cooking demos, cooking and eating.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervising a group of 6 - 12 students (you will be assigned an assistant if there are more than 12)
  • Instructing and cooking up to 2 recipes/day
  • Instructing students about safety in the kitchen
  • Making sure the cooking space is left cleaner than it was found
  • Shopping for groceries weekly
  • Ensuring a safe and educational space for students to cook and learn.

Chef Educators receive $25/hour for teaching, $15/hour for setting up and cleaning up, $20/week for time spent shopping, and a company debit card with which to purchase groceries for classes. This is a part-time contractor position.
Applicants must include the following in their application: Availability, whether they have a reliable car, physical capabilities (must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. repeatedly, and which counties they are willing to work in. We offer programs in Contra Costa, Alameda, San Francisco and the Peninsula, and San Diego counties.

Assistant responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the manager in all ways
  • Helping students with their individual needs
  • Leading a small group of students in completing up to 2 recipes/day in a timely fashion
  • Serving food, setting up, cleaning up, helping with games, attending to a student if sick or injured, and overall maintaining a non-chaotic and upbeat, enthusiastic atmosphere.

Assistants receive $15/hour. This is a part-time position with availability needed in the afternoons.

San Francisco and Peninsula Regional Manager position

Cooking Round the World is the juncture where culinary arts and cultural education meet. We offer children summer and winter camp programs, after-school classes, birthdays, and specialty school programs.

We are looking for a leader with excellent management skills, great communication skills and organizational ability who can successfully bring us into the San Francisco and Peninsula educational and camp market.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Acquiring and securing San Francisco and Peninsula facilities for after-school classes, summer camps; winter camps
· Staff Management
· Facility Oversight

VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ : Apply only if: you have a car, you have internet research skills, have supervised others before, have an understanding of Google Drive, have a home office you can use (access to a computer and printer and phone) and you are detailed oriented. You must be able to work independently but follow directives disseminated from afar. Teaching experience a plus. Payment is hourly plus commission work. This is a 32 hour/week position.
